CLIENT SUCCESS STORY: Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Support!

When Nadine first visited The United Effort Organization (UEO) in March 2026, she was looking for guidance. She needed help navigating benefits, finding housing, exploring job opportunities—and finding mentors who could help her move forward.

Just a few months later, Nadine is building something much bigger: a future shaped around her talents, her passion, and her own goals.

Nadine is a gifted artist and has been making exciting strides toward turning her creativity into a source of income. She has taught art lessons to support herself financially and has also generously volunteered her time to provide free lessons to others.

Giving back is especially meaningful to Nadine. She loves working with people who may face additional challenges—including people with low incomes, people with special needs, single parents, orphans, and people experiencing homelessness. Through her art and teaching, Nadine believes she can help foster wellness, connection, and a stronger sense of community—one that celebrates diversity and gives everyone a chance to express themselves.

And now, her art is opening new doors!

Through UEO, Nadine was connected with a small-loan program that provides mentorship, financial assistance, and career opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. That connection led to an exciting new opportunity with Santa Clara University’s Unhoused Initiative Program, which will feature Nadine’s artwork in an October art exhibit.

But her journey has involved much more than art. UEO has supported Nadine with her resume, applications for traditional jobs, housing searches, connections to community resources, and—perhaps most importantly—ongoing mentorship and encouragement as she learns to advocate for herself.

With every new connection and accomplishment, Nadine has gained something just as important as practical support: confidence.

Today, she has a growing sense of hope that her goals are within reach—building a career around her art, becoming housed, and creating opportunities for others along the way.

Nadine came to UEO looking for help finding her next step. She is now taking those steps herself—and creating a path that is uniquely her own.
